Carvajal signs new Real Madrid deal with £308m release clause

Dani Carvajal has signed a contract extension tying him to Real Madrid until 2022.

The new deal sees his release clause rise to an eye-watering £308million.
“I’m very grateful to the club. I couldn’t be happier, it’s another important day to remember in my life after extending my contract with the club that means the world to me, the club
 that has seen me grow.

“I’ve been fortunate to win every title with Real Madrid and I’m looking forward to winning them again,” the 25-year-old, who first joined Real at the age of 10, said.

On his release clause, he added: “The release clause is also so high so that nobody can take me away from here and I don’t want to leave.”

The Spain full-back has helped the club win 11 trophies, including LaLiga last season and the Champions Leagues three times, since returning to the club in 2013 following a one-year stay with Bayer Leverkusen.
