Conor McGregor insists 'there is still a lot left' in him as a fighter

Conor McGregor insists there is still plenty left to come from him as a fighter. The 29-year-old has not competed since his 10th-round stoppage loss to Floyd Mayweather in August and has yet to schedule another fight in either boxing or mixed martial arts. Despite not competing in the UFC since November 2016, McGregor remains the organisation's lightweight champion, though Tony Ferguson has since been crowned interim lightweight champion. UFC president Dana White stated in October a fight between McGregor and Ferguson "has to happen", while the Irish star has also been called out by Manny Pacquiao. Birmingham announced as Commonwealth Games host for the upcoming year 2022

Birmingham has been named as host city for the 2022 Commonwealth Games - the most expensive sports event to be held in Britain since the London Olympics. The city's was the only bid submitted to the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) by the deadline of 30 September, after it was chosen ahead of Liverpool as Britain's candidate. The CGF initially deemed the city's bid was "not fully compliant". However, it has now been confirmed as the host of the £750m event. Birmingham mayor Andy Street described the announcement as a "fantastic Christmas present for our region". The bidding process has been beset with problems, with the South African city of Durban awarded the Games in 2015 before being stripped of the event because it did not meet the CGF criteria.
