Antonio Rudiger having a medical in London

Roma Centre-defender Antonio Rudiger is having a medical at Chelsea ahead of a £34m move to the Premier League champions.

Sky Sources claim the Germany international, who recently won the Confederations Cup with his country, is undergoing the final stages of a proposed move to Stamford Bridge as Chelsea look to bolster their defensive ranks.

The deal was effectively finalised last week, but was delayed until recently so his agent could agree personal terms with Antonio Conte's side, who could also announce the signing of Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko soon.

Rudiger was a consistent part of the Roma side that finished second in Serie A, making 26 league appearances and contributing two assists, and will play Champions League football with Chelsea next year after playing in the Europa League during the 2016-17 season.
Personal terms for Rudiger, who came through the ranks at Stuttgart before making a €4m switch to Roma in 2015, have been agreed and the transfer will likely be announced within the next few days.
