D’Tigress defeat Senegal, claim fifth straight victory : Afrobasket 2017




Nigeria on Wednesday, overcame defending champions of the FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Championship Senegal 58-54, making it five wins in five games in Group B of the tournament in Bamako, Mali.

Both sides had already booked their places in the quarter-finals after winning their previous group matches.

D’Tigress triumphed in the first quarter 14-13, at half time they were ahead 34-26 and by the third quarter, it had extended to 48-41.

Evelyn Akhator continued her impressive performances with 15 points and 10 rebounds to her credit
Nigeria have now beaten Mozambique, Congo, Egypt, Guinea and Senegal in the 2017 championship, making D’Tigress favourites to win the title.

Liverpool signs Naby Keita for a club-record fee £48m

Liverpool have confirmed the agreement of a club-record deal to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita next summer. The Reds will pay the £48m release clause that will allow Keita to join the club, as well as an undisclosed premium. Keita completed a medical on Monday and will officially join Liverpool on July 1 next year. The fee will also surpass the £39.5m paid to Roma for Mohamed Salah this summer. The Guinea international said: "I am delighted that an agreement has been reached and I will become part of a project that excites me greatly.
