Gylfi Sigurdsson passes Everton medical, says Ronald Koeman

 
Everton manager Ronald Koeman has confirmed Gylfi Sigurdsson has completed a medical ahead of his move from Swansea.

The Toffees agreed a £45m deal for the Iceland international on Tuesday night to end a summer-long chase.

"The latest is that he had his medical this morning," said Koeman ahead of Everton's Europa League play-off first leg against Hajduk Split on Thursday. "What I heard from the doctor was no problem.

"I don't know if still he needs to sign but I saw him in the Blue!

"I will talk to Gylfi this afternoon. He will not be involved tomorrow. Maybe for Monday (against Manchester City live on Sky Sports Premier League). Let's wait and see how the fitness is.

"We worked a long time to get this deal in and he was one of the key players to bring in. We knew would lose [Romelu] Lukaku for this season and we need players who bring productivity to the team.

"He is the type of player with a lot of productivity. In my opinion he is one of the best in the Premier League."

Sigurdsson missed City's 0-0 draw at Southampton, which led to criticism of the transfer deadline from the club's own manager Paul Clement after he was forced to leave him out.

Liverpool signs Naby Keita for a club-record fee £48m

Liverpool have confirmed the agreement of a club-record deal to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita next summer. The Reds will pay the £48m release clause that will allow Keita to join the club, as well as an undisclosed premium. Keita completed a medical on Monday and will officially join Liverpool on July 1 next year. The fee will also surpass the £39.5m paid to Roma for Mohamed Salah this summer.
