Lampard the Latest BT Sports Pundit as to make debut at Community Shield

Former Chelsea Legend, Frank Lampard, has joined BT Sports as a pundit and will make his debut for the broadcaster at the Community Shield.

The 39-year-old will help provide insight into the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League and Europa League matches.

He said, “I’m delighted to be joining BT Sport,’ Lampard will be at Wembley on Sunday as Arsenal take on Chelsea.

“I’m looking forward to an exciting new season both here and in Europe and can’t wait to begin working with the team.”

Lampard hasn’t played competitive football since he left New York City last year. He did work briefly for Sky Sports as a pundit last season.

BT said that the England midfielder did have many offers from elsewhere before joining the broadcaster.

Head of BT Sport, Simon Green, said, “It’s no secret that Frank had many offers, both within the game and elsewhere, following his retirement, so we are absolutely thrilled that he has chosen to join the team at BT Sport.

“Frank needs no introduction as a Chelsea and England legend and he has already shown in his first appearances as a broadcaster that he is going to be a shrewd and insightful expert,” He added.

“Frank’s incredible pedigree on the field means that he’ll regularly be commenting on a competition that he’s won as a player, which we believe gives him fantastic credibility.”
